Madeira Madeira, situated off the coast of West Africa with its sub tropical climate is a popular destination at all times of year. Temperatures are generally warm throughout the year ranging from 16 C to 25 C with occasional downpours.
The island is about 40 miles long and 20 miles wide and has many places of historic interest and natural beauty. The range of scenery and terrain make Madeira a good choice for walkers. The levada irrigation system which runs for the full length of the islands provides an opportunity to explore much of the island.
